Impartial means to treat all rivals or disputants fairly, some synonyms are unbiased, neutral, and nondiscriminatory. Obviously with this in mind it is very important to be impartial in arguments as you always have to make sure you give both sides a fair chance. You have to hear all the facts before you make a decision or judgment. For example a judge has to be impartial because they want to make sure they're not gonna arrest someone who is actually innocent, the judge has to pay attention to both sides and hear all the facts, the judge also shouldn't be biased as that will probably make them
ignore certain things in order to support one side. The government always has more power than a citizen will ever have but that's why we need impartial judges to make sure the person has a fair trial and no one is accused of something they never did. From that you can see that it is always important to be impartial in arguments or discussions because you don't want to be seen as ignorant or biased to one side as then you will miss out on info that could possible persuade you to change opinion, its always good to listen to what other people have to say.
Well put.
